I'm pleasantly surprised to discover that YouTube has switched to a new Flash-based user interface for its video upload, presumably using the new FileReference API. Sweet!
Historically, Flash Player penetration on PCs is known to reach 80% in ~12 months. In December 2005, according to the NPD survey, Player 8 had hit ~50% penetration in the US, Canada, and Europe. This upgrade to a Flash-based UI is a good and timely move by YouTube.
Now hopefully they also have an alternate UI for non-Flash environments. I'm a big fan of graceful degradation!
Here's the video I was uploading, by the way: Laser show at Wonder La.
